4ur3l1u5 Jio never EVER dissapoints, one of my fav producers. Versatile and honest. Had to choose one fav track but they're all amazing. Favorite track: Way You Like.

UniqueUserName D'Angelo meets Huerco S. Ok, ok so it doesn't *quite* meet those standards, but it's extremely exciting, genre bending stuff. Really lovely. For a debut work, it's boiling over with ideas and I suspect the next album Jio releases is going to be spectacular.

about

TFW is the debut album by Jio, a departure from his dance music stylings as J. Albert into singing and songwriting. TFW is a nine track album spanning styles from r&b, hip hop, to ambient and electronic abstractions, seeing Jio bring together the warm, distorted, analog quality of his dance music productions with DIY bedroom vocal takes and intimate lyrical musings.

TFW is about the revolving thoughts and seemingly never-ending internal dialogue that happen during times of hardship that so many of us experience as young adults– breakups, family trouble, unemployment, etc. For Jio, writing these songs on his phone on public transit, or out somewhere late night in an altered state, then returning home to record in his bedroom, this was a way of exporting those thoughts and compartmentalizing, breaking the endless feedback loop.
